Usually, it's a requirement that you rent a domain name for two years.
You'll also need some space on a server that everyone can see using the internet. This is called having your site hosted. You'll find different hosting packages under "Hosting Stuff". If you're just starting out, the Standard Package will definitely cover your needs. With 10 email addresses, every member of the family can have their own address. Lots of included tools to help build your site if you don't have a teenager to guide you.
You need an idea of what you want your website to say to the world. This would be your reason for reading this far. It may be that you want to compete with Amazon.com or make your photos available for your family anywhere on the planet. You may just want the esteem that comes with a personalised email address.
